Each Kansas Board of Education seat corresponds with four State Senate Districts. District 9 includes State Senate Districts 13, 14, 15, and 17. The district covers a 14-county area and also covers parts of six other counties. Sixty-five school districts are contained within the district. Total counties belonging to the district are: Allen, Bourbon, Chase, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Coffey, Crawford, Elk, Labette, Lyon, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. Partial counties include: Anderson, Greenwood, Marion, Morris, Osage, and Franklin.
